๐งจ What Happened?
A gunman intentionally started a brush fire and called 911 to lure first responders to the scene. The fire spread over approximately 20 acres.
Shortly after the firefighters arrived, they came under sniper-style gunfire.
๐ข Casualties:
2 firefighters were killed on the spot
1 firefighter was seriously injured and is currently hospitalized in stable condition
๐ Security Response:
Authorities described the event as a “premeditated ambush”
FBI, SWAT, and ATF teams were deployed to the area
The suspect was found dead at the scene near his weapon
A shelter-in-place order was issued and later lifted in the evening

Sheriff Robert Norris said, “This was a total ambush. The firefighters had no chance to survive.”
Governor Brad Little condemned the attack as a “heinous and cowardly act” and urged people to pray for the victims and their families
